Rainscreens are a wall cladding that acts as a moisture resistant barrier surface to an exterior wall. It creates a capillary break and allows drainage and evaporation. The advantage of using rainscreens is to get the insulation and vapor barrier on the outside of the building, establishing a thermal barrier and increasing energy efficiency.
Rainscreens can be made from a variety of materials including:
- Fiber Cement
- Aluminum Composite Material (AMC)
- High Pressure Laminate (HPL)
- Ceramic Tile
Exterior Insulation Finish Systems (EIFS)
EIFS is a lightweight, continuous insulation wall cladding that incorporates rigid foam board insulation covered with a thin synthetic, water-resistant finish coating in a single composite system. In addition to being an extremely versatile system, EIFS can be installed in a variety of colors, finishes, thicknesses, and shapes to accommodate any project design. EIFS also offers energy efficient, cost-competitive advantages versus other exterior wall cladding solutions.
Why are EIFS a great option?
- Cost Competitive
- Multiple Design Choices
- Energy Efficient
- Durable Performance
- Excellent Moisture Control
- Resistant to Mold & Mildew
