Women in Construction & Veteran Recruitment Initiatives

PCI actively supports diversity and inclusion through our Women in Construction (WIC) and Veteran Recruitment Initiatives. Through WIC, our goal is to become an employer-of-choice for women. The Initiative has multiple phases, the first of which is aimed at empowering our current women operations employees through leadership and mentorship programs. Our Veteran Recruitment Initiative seeks to augment our commitment to supporting the military by establishing a focused pipeline of candidates for consideration in field and salaried roles.

Internship & Minority Initiatives

PCI also supports diversity and inclusion through our summer internship programs and our work with female and minority-owned vendors. Our Associate Project Engineer (APE) and Corporate summer internship programs employ students from a variety of backgrounds; through top-to-bottom branch and field training, and department training respectively, the internships enable these students to get the necessary hands on experience to succeed at our company and in the industry—all while they receive a living wage. In addition to our internship programs, many PCI profit centers choose to work with female and minority-owned vendors. This work increases the financial opportunities for these vendors and the number of innovative options for our customers.

We believe that taking care of our communities extends beyond what we do on the job site. Our branches and people take pride in helping improve the communities where they live and work by embracing charities and causes that are close to their hearts. Whether its cleaning sensitive tidelands along San Diego Bay or donating supplies to Habitat for Humanity, we strive to support and enrich the places we call home.

PCI is also proud to support CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) as our corporate charity. CASA is the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens as officers of the court. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. CASA volunteers change that. Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers typically handle just one case at a time—and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. PCI is proud to support CASA and the work they do across the nation.

Mobile Digital Plan Systems

PCI has developed the most innovative digital planning system in the industry The MDPS operates as the mobile field office, consisting of a computer, scanner, printer, USB ports, Wi-Fi, and a tablet interface. This innovative technology is changing job site communication by enabling field workers to be more efficient.

Prefabricated Exterior Panels

PCI’s custom panels consist of framing, sheathing and weather barrier. Our design-assist construction experience streamlines your projects by moving the construction of the outside skin to our controlled warehouse. This accelerates the construction schedule, saving your project time and money.

Prefabricated Bathroom PODs

Custom-built PCI PODs are built in a controlled environment to ensure the highest quality standards and reduce on-site complications, such as multiple trades competing for the same time and space. PODs also speed up construction schedules by manufacturing the units off-site and delivering a plug and play product.

Prefabricated Drywall Shapes

Prefabricated Trimless Drywall Shapes accelerate project schedules while improving appearance. Pieces can be designed and fabricated in a variety of shapes and sizes, including soffits, curtain pockets, column covers, curvatures and intricate detailing. Shapes are fabricated in our facility, reducing job-site congestion.

Material Mobility

PCI has developed an innovative cart system that creates greater job-site efficiency. Our durable carts are designed to eliminate any delays caused by moving floor materials to make room for other trades. They also makes the job site safer by improving material handling processes and reducing the potential for injury.

Robotic Layout Systems

The Robotic Layout System is an auto-tracking, auto-pointing, fully robotic communications system with on-demand target reacquisition. The Robotic Layout System improves the layout of 3-D coordinated drawings, ensuring the information transmitted throughout the job site is precise and consistent.
