PCI Des Moines provided services through exterior and interior stages for the 28,000 SF library. The team installed a load-bearing exterior metal stud framing system supporting the roof and acting as shear walls for the exterior diaphragm. Working through Iowa’s winter months, PCI also completed the nail base and fluid-applied air barrier. For the interior, they installed hanging baffles above the children’s play area and a two-story wood butterfly-wing ceiling. The team was nominated by the Weitz project team for their Quarterly Subcontractor Safety Award.
