Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) ConRAC Facility

Hebron, KY | December 2021

Work began on the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport’s new consolidated rent-a-car (ConRAC) facility in early 2020, with a total project scope that included a new garage for vehicle pickup and return, a vehicle maintenance and fueling garage and a new customer service building attached to the airport’s main terminal. The PCI project crew was put in charge of installing exterior framing, sheathing, insulation, drywall, acoustical and modular metal ceilings, and more, for the 84,000-square-foot customer service building.

Exterior framing required careful consideration and planning, as its design included a variety of slopes at different angles and directions. Once framing was completed, the PCI crew installed approx. 50,000 sq. ft. of exterior sheathing on the structure. The team installed insulation and drywall on all walls inside the facility, while also completing the ceilings, installing acoustical tiles and metal baffles for a modern, functional and finished look.

Work was completed on time and on budget thanks to the PCI crew and the detailed construction management from Messer. Following PCI’s work, interior walls were finished with murals by local artists, showcasing the region’s rich history and the building’s aesthetic angles and shapes. The project was awarded the 2022 AGC Build KY Award in the New Construction category.
