CCHMC Critical Care Building

Cincinnati, OH | October 2021

PCI worked with construction manager Messer to finish the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) Critical Care Building, a state-of-the-art, 630,000-square-foot addition to one of the highest-ranked pediatric hospitals in the country. Scopes for the PCI crew included metal framing, insulation, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and metal panel ceilings; the team worked more than 62,000 work hours on the project, installing 450,000 sq. ft. of drywall and approx. 300,000 sq. ft. of acoustical ceiling throughout the facility.

The CCHMC Critical Care project was the largest private development in Cincinnati history—and the largest project ever for the PCI Cincinnati branch—and it required careful coordination and project management to ensure safety, quality and timely completion. The building was finished ahead of schedule, opening in November 2021, and was awarded a 2022 Build America Award for New/Renovation Construction.
