Since joining Performance Contracting in 2018 as Corporate Counsel—and later serving as Senior Corporate Counsel— John Polhemus has been a trusted advisor and influential leader, guiding the organization through complex legal, compliance, and operational matters with expertise and integrity.
In this role, John has overseen nationwide legal operations, leading multiple departments including Contract Administration, Union Support, and Compliance Support. Under his leadership, these teams have managed thousands of contracts annually, supported over 150 local unions across the U.S., and ensured compliance for more than 4,000 project bids each year.
John also led the legal due diligence and integration for PCI LYMO, demonstrating a strategic ability to align legal initiatives with the company’s growth. His work has strengthened risk management efforts, advanced regulatory compliance, and reinforced PCG’s commitment to employee safety and ethical business practices.
John’s leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity, humility, and continuous learning. He believes that true leaders grow alongside their teams, leading by example through presence, active listening, and collaboration. His approach emphasizes authenticity and trust as the foundation for lasting success within both the department and the broader organization.
